In 2012, seven Milwaukee-area churches came together with a passion to engage in the work of building a community of support and safety for children who are caught up in or forced into sex trafficking. From this, a vision for “Exploit No More” was born, with a goal of eradicating child sex trafficking in the Greater Milwaukee area and empowering citizens, communities, and victims to advocate for anti-trafficking laws and policies.
To bring about awareness and raise financial support for long-term residential aftercare for child victims who have been rescued, churches in the area designed events involving Milwaukee artists with a passion for this issue. I was asked to create one of five featured art pieces for an art auction called “Freedom and Art”, each with a limited run of twenty prints for sale at the auction.
I used an image of a crane in juxtaposition with items related to confinement to illustrate the vision associated with Exploit No More. It was created in Adobe Illustrator.
This piece was also chosen to be published in the 22 edition of Spectrum Fantastic Art.
